I realise I am a couple of days late, but as far as I’m concerned, every day should be National Black Cat Day! 🐈⬛💗
Having had a gorgeous black cat myself (who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge years ago 🌈🌉), I am of course biased. However, seeing as it is Samhain 🧙🏻♀️ today (and All Hallows’ Eve 🎃 yesterday), I feel it is appropriate to show some love and appreciation for our furry familiars, particularly as black cats are often the last to get adopted (if at all). According to the RSPCA, black cats are three times more likely to end up in their care than other colours. It is a real cat-astrophe! 😱
Personally, I have found that my Magic always brought me luck. I simply cannot pass up on any opportunity to share pictures of her even though she is no longer with us. As you can see, she was not fond of cosplay, but did endure the Nyan Cat costume I made for her… for all of two seconds! 😅 In addition to boxes, she was also extremely fond of paper bags.

Anyway, I am not alone in my belief that black cats are paws-itively charming. There are cultures in which black cats are considered highly auspicious ✨, such as to Thais (according to Tamra Maew) and Egyptians (because these cats resemble the god Bastet).
If you are looking for a feline companion, here are ten wonderful reasons why you should adopt a black cat. ✅👍🏻
